What you’ll be doing (and why you’ll enjoy it)

Immersing yourself in industry and company analysis, financial modelling, valuation and report writing. You’ll analyse data (incl. Bloomberg), present research, attend meetings with management teams and manage projects to tight deadlines. Expect Bloomberg training, CFA study support, job shadowing at an asset manager, and exposure to the full spectrum of an equity analyst’s role.

With an established Johannesburg securities firm renowned for its analyst training academy (running since 2003, 36 graduates). Alumni hold prominent roles across the industry, from top-rated analysts to portfolio managers and C-suite leaders. You’ll be mentored by experienced professionals in a collaborative, performance-oriented culture.

What you’ll need

This is an exceptional opportunity for an exceptional Cum Laude graduate. You need to have achieved a 75% GPA for your under grad and 70% GPA for your honours. Your qualification needs to be in Investments, Economics, Financial Engineering, Finance or related with the intention to do CFA. Excellent analytical, numerical and communication skills, advanced Excel, exposure to Bloomberg advantageous. You will need to include a Motivation Letter detailing why you want to be a trainee equity analyst. Preference will be given to African black candidates in line with Employment Equity. Able to commit to a 12-month fixed-term contract (February–January) based in Sandton.
