Is this you?

You are a skilled Electrical Draughtsman in the motor control centre industry. You are responsible for creating detailed electrical designs and technical drawings for the installation of motor control systems. You have hands-on experience using EPLAN software to create wiring schematics, general arrangements (GAs), and parts lists. You’re comfortable discussing project specifications with engineers and clients and ensuring that designs align with customer requirements and industry standards.

In this role, you will be responsible for generating EPLAN drawings, GAs, and updating schematics to “as built” upon project completion. You will work closely with engineers to communicate any concerns in the design or layout and submit final drawings and documents to customers for approval. Your contribution will ensure the successful flow of production, procurement, and design processes, making you a key member of the design team.

Where you’ll be doing it

This role is based at their manufacturing facility in Ottery, working hours are from Monday to Thursday 07h45 till 16h45 and Fridays 07h45 till 14h15. Overtime required when necessary. The company is a leading manufacturer of electrical switchboards, specializing in motor control centres. They have a skilled team and modern workshop in Ottery, producing high-quality products that have earned recognition from consultants and clients. Their product range includes distribution boards, motor control centres, power electronics, and PLC controls, all meeting SANS standards and certified with the SABS mark. The company serves various industries such as air conditioning, mining, pharmaceuticals, and water treatment, with significant experience in containerized MCCs and large-scale projects.

What you’ll need

You’ll need at least 2-3 years of experience as an Electrical Draughtsman, if you have experience with EPLAN software that would be beneficial. A solid understanding of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and general arrangements is essential. Previous experience in the motor control or panel-building sector is mandatory as well as a recognised qualification in draughting (electrical or related field) will be required.
