Accountant

Location: Westlake, Cape Town

Salary: Market related

Step into a hands on finance role where your expertise will directly shape a growing business’s future.

Is this you?

You’re an exceptionally detail-driven, hands-on Accountant who takes real ownership of your work. You enjoy solving complex problems, bringing clarity to messy balance sheets, and working in a stable environment where your contribution truly matters. You thrive in a collaborative, low-ego team and understand that precision is non-negotiable.

What you’ll be doing (and why you’ll enjoy it)

You’ll take ownership of balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving long-standing discrepancies that occurred with a system change over. Over time you’ll take over preparing monthly management accounts and financial statements for one of the smaller subsidiaries in the business. Working daily on NetSuite, you’ll handle invoicing, payments, inventory and creditor processes, and support month-end and audit preparation. You’ll resolve system challenges, gradually take on foreign exchange responsibilities and being hands on in the business, a right hand to the Financial Manager. We’re looking for someone that’s come from a small to medium sized business, understands that you work as a team and need to be hands on with the big and small stuff. Not wanting to climb a corporate ladder but eager to be part of a collaborative team.

Where you’ll be doing it

You’ll join a well-established, growing import and distribution business with strong international supplier relationships and impressive revenue performance. The environment is small, friendly, and supportive, with a collaborative culture, minimal hierarchy, and a focus on accountability without micromanagement. It’s Monday to Friday in office.

What you’ll need

A relevant accounting qualification (BCom, BTech or similar) with strong hands-on experience in (hands on) balance sheet reconciliations, cash management, debtors and inventory. At first you won’t be doing the financial statements but over time you’ll take it over for the smaller entity of 2 million turnover per month so you’ll be required to have the relevant experience. Solid cloud based ERP experience is non-negotiable (NetSuite advantageous), along with a proven track record across multiple year-ends and audits. You must be detail-focused, reliable, and comfortable working independently.

What you’ll get

A stable, long-term opportunity with a supportive team culture and a basic salary and potential for a 13th Cheque.
