Weld your way into a highly skilled, high-impact workshop role.

Is this you?

You’re a hands-on problem solver with a meticulous approach to your craft. You thrive in a structured environment where quality, safety, and precision come first. You’re methodical, dependable, and confident in your technical skills. You can guide others, communicate clearly, and you’re always looking for ways to improve processes and stay up to date with the latest in equipment and tools.

What you’ll be doing (and why you’ll enjoy it)

You’ll be responsible for the repair, maintenance, and service of mechanical equipment in a well-equipped workshop setting. From dismantling, fault diagnosis, and part replacement to hydraulic cylinder repairs and gearbox testing – your day will be full of technical challenges. You’ll also manufacture parts when off-the-shelf replacements aren’t available and supervise a labourer to ensure standards are met. A big part of your role will involve spot checks and condition monitoring to ensure everything runs safely and efficiently. You’ll also be available for occasional callouts and standby duties.

Where you’ll be doing it

You’ll be joining a pioneering organisation in the drilling and engineering sector. With a global reputation for excellence, innovation, and technical precision, this company offers a structured yet dynamic environment where safety, professionalism, and career development are a top priority. Their teams work collaboratively, with strong leadership and a commitment to operational excellence.

What you’ll need

You’ll need a recognised Trade Test as a Boilermaker (Red Seal or equivalent), supported by an N6 Mechanical Engineering diploma and at least a Grade 12 or N3. You must be computer literate and familiar with CMMS or similar systems. A Code C driver’s licence is required, with HR or MR licensing advantageous. Experience in hydraulic systems, condition monitoring, and a strong understanding of Mining Design Guidelines (e.g., MDG 15 and 41) is essential. You’ll also need to be medically fit and safety-compliant.

What you’ll get

A respected role in a global engineering operation, alongside ongoing training and opportunities to work on a wide variety of advanced mechanical systems. Expect supportive leadership, structured routines, and the chance to grow within a forward-thinking technical environment.
