What you’ll be doing (and why you’ll enjoy it)

You’ll lead operations across production, logistics, procurement, maintenance, infrastructure, automation and broader operational support functions while helping steer the business through an exciting growth and transformation phase. A major focus will be improving scalability, reporting visibility, efficiencies, accountability and operational maturity. You’ll oversee expansion projects, digitisation initiatives and process optimisation while working closely with senior leadership and the Board. Where you’ll be doing it

Our client is a long-established player in the agricultural sector operating near Krugersdorp. They are widely recognised for quality, innovation and sustainability, with international industry recognition for operational excellence. Supplying into the retail sector means the environment moves quickly and operational demands can shift depending on production cycles and customer requirements. This is a fully onsite role suited to someone agile, adaptable and comfortable operating in a dynamic production environment where national travel, occasional weekends and public holidays may be required depending on operational demands and ongoing growth initiatives.

What you’ll need

You’ll bring at least 10 years of senior operational leadership experience within large-scale operational, production, manufacturing, logistics, agricultural or similarly complex environments. A relevant tertiary qualification in Business Management, Operations Management, Engineering, Supply Chain, Agriculture, Industrial Management or a related field is essential, while a postgraduate qualification or MBA would be advantageous. Strong exposure to operational transformation, infrastructure projects, process optimisation and multidisciplinary leadership is critical. You should be commercially minded, highly practical and comfortable driving both strategic initiatives and day-to-day operational execution. Experience with digitisation, automation, reporting improvement and operational scalability will be highly advantageous, along with the willingness to travel nationally when required and the flexibility to put in additional time when operational demands require it.
