What you’ll be doing (and why you’ll enjoy it)
Your main responsibilities will include conducting thorough assessments of commercial roofing projects to determine material needs, labour costs, and project timelines. You’ll work closely with engineering and design teams to create accurate and competitive roofing estimates, analysing project specifications and documents to ensure precision.
With an in-depth understanding of global roofing practices beyond South Africa, you’ll stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to enhance the company’s competitiveness. Crafting detailed and compelling roofing project proposals that encompass scope, costs, timelines, and crucial details for clients will be essential, collaborating with sales and business development teams to tailor proposals to individual project requirements. Your background in construction and project management will prove invaluable as you identify challenges and opportunities, coordinating with project managers and construction teams to translate estimates into successful project execution.
Additionally, you’ll track project costs, labour expenses, and material expenditures to align estimates with actual outcomes, generating regular reports for management review. Building strong client relationships, you’ll engage with clients and stakeholders, addressing project requirements, clarifying estimates, and providing technical insights whenever necessary.

This is a Hybrid position, you will be able to work from home as well as the South African office which is based in Benoni.

What you’ll need
A Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Engineering. You must demonstrate proven expertise in commercial roofing estimation, showcasing a robust history of successful projects. An in-depth comprehension of various international roofing types and solutions, with a specific focus on diverse market practices, is essential. Proficiency in construction and project management methodologies is expected, alongside excellent analytical skills for precise estimation and cost analysis.
Effective communication skills are vital for collaborative interactions with clients, teams, and stakeholders. Attention to detail and ability to perform under pressure to meet deadlines are crucial. Proficiency in relevant estimation and project management software/tools is required, and a willingness to travel as needed to support international projects is anticipated.
