Is this you?

You’re a qualified Electrical or Mechatronic Engineer with solid experience in PLC programming and automation. You’ve likely spent a few years in a manufacturing or machinery environment, developing and testing complex control systems. You can interpret electrical schematics with ease and have hands-on experience with commissioning and servicing automated equipment. You’re confident working independently but also know when to collaborate. Travelling for work excites you, especially when it means being part of international, high-tech projects where you see your solutions come to life.

What you’ll be doing (and why you’ll enjoy it)

You’ll design and test industrial software applications (think PLCs, HMIs), configure servo and frequency inverters, and handle electrical installation, commissioning, and servicing of packaging machinery. You’ll be part of the full machine-building process, including travel to international client sites for commissioning projects, expect a few trips to Europe or the US annually. You’ll play a key role in developing solutions for automation projects and ensuring seamless integration and performance of machines.

Where you’ll be doing it

Our client is a specialist engineering firm with strong Dutch ties, known for designing and manufacturing innovative packaging solutions. Based in Somerset West, their collaborative culture is driven by technical excellence and global project delivery. You’ll join a young, talented team with a hands-on, engineering-first mindset, working closely with experts across disciplines.

What you’ll need

A Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Science in Mechatronics or Electrical Engineering is essential, as is a valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel frequently. You should have experience developing ladder logic for PLCs, reading schematics, and ideally 2–3 years in complex PLC applications. Bonus points if you speak basic Afrikaans or Dutch.

What you’ll get

A competitive salary, meaningful international exposure, and hands-on access to cutting-edge technology. You’ll join a company where Engineers lead the way, a collaborative, high-performance environment that values initiative, precision, and problem-solving. Expect regular travel to Europe and the US, a flat, agile culture with real ownership of your work, and the opportunity to grow your skillset rapidly across design, software, and commissioning.
