Lead electrical and instrumentation excellence in a high-performance chemical manufacturing environment.

Is this you?

You’re a hands-on leader with strong technical expertise in electrical and instrumentation maintenance within a heavy industrial or chemical plant environment. Safety is non-negotiable for you, and you lead from the front when it comes to compliance, quality, and best practice. You’re organised, decisive, and confident managing Artisans, Contractors, and shutdowns. With a sharp eye for plant availability and cost control, you balance operational urgency with structured maintenance planning. You enjoy mentoring your team and driving continuous improvement.

What you’ll be doing (and why you’ll enjoy it)

This includes supervising electrical and instrumentation work, optimising maintenance activities, conducting failure investigations, and ensuring shutdowns are delivered on time and within budget. You’ll drive compliance with ISO 9001, 14001 and 18001 standards, oversee gas train maintenance in line with regulations, and ensure all safety protocols, audits, inspections and toolbox talks are completed. You’ll manage work orders, control costs, oversee tools and equipment, handle contractor performance, and ensure accurate documentation and reporting. Team development, succession planning, and performance management will also form a key part of your role.

What you’ll need

To succeed in this role, you will need an Electrical Trade Test. Having a N6 Electrical qualification is highly advantageous. You will have at least 8-10 years of experience in a heavy industry or chemical plant environment, 5 of those in a supervisory or managerial role. Strong knowledge of plant safety, maintenance systems, and ISO standards is required. You must be computer literate (MS Office, SAP). MV Switching certification, Electrical Installation Practitioner certification, Certified Industrial Gas Practitioner status, or maintenance management training would be advantageous.
