You thrive in fast-paced environments and remain calm under pressure, whether working in an engine room, onboard a vessel, or alongside technical teams. Safety and attention to detail are second nature to you, and you’re just as comfortable working independently as you are collaborating with engineers, skippers, and technicians. Organised, reliable, and proactive, you take pride in delivering quality work and keeping systems running smoothly.

What you’ll be doing (and why you’ll enjoy it)

You’ll install, maintain, and repair marine electrical systems across a range of vessels and marine environments. Your work will include diagnosing electrical faults, servicing power generation and distribution systems, and maintaining navigation, communication, and control equipment. You’ll also work on lighting systems, batteries, chargers, inverters, switchboards, motors, pumps, alarms, and automation systems. The role involves conducting preventative maintenance, performing inspections, assisting during dry-docking and refits, and responding to emergency repairs when required. You’ll maintain accurate service records and ensure all work complies with marine safety, electrical, and environmental regulations while collaborating closely with technical teams onboard and ashore.

Where you’ll be doing it

You’ll join a well-established, growing marine engineering company based in Paarden Eiland. Known for delivering high-performance diesel propulsion systems, this business offers a professional, collaborative environment focused on technical innovation, customer satisfaction, and employee development. You’ll be part of a knowledgeable, supportive team with a strong reputation in the marine sector.

What you’ll need

You’ll be a qualified, trade-tested Electrician with proven experience working on marine or offshore electrical systems. Strong knowledge of AC and DC marine electrical systems is essential, along with the ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and electrical schematics. You will have at least 3 years of experience working on vessels, ships, boats, or offshore platforms is highly advantageous. You should understand marine safety standards, be physically fit for working in confined spaces such as engine rooms, and be comfortable with preventative maintenance programs. A valid driver’s license is required, and marine safety certifications will be beneficial.

What you’ll get

This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a stable, growing company in the marine industry. You’ll gain valuable experience in the sector while contributing to the success of the business. You’ll enjoy a stable role within a respected company offering a competitive basic salary, company vehicle, full medical aid for you and your family, pension fund and an incentive bonus.
