Group HR Manager

Location: Cape Town CBD

Salary: Market related

Lead global people strategy and culture transformation across international operations.

Is this you?

You’re a strategic HR leader who thrives in a fast-paced, multinational environment. Passionate about people, culture, and performance, you bring a collaborative mindset and the confidence to influence at executive level. You’re known for your strong decision-making, intercultural competence, and ability to unite diverse teams under a shared vision. With a proactive approach, you solve complex problems, build strong stakeholder relationships, and inspire those around you to achieve more.

What you’ll be doing (and why you’ll enjoy it)

You’ll oversee the entire HR function across regional offices, aligning people initiatives with strategic business goals. This includes driving a group talent management strategy, implementing HR policies and systems, and ensuring compliance with local labour regulations. You’ll manage performance, reward and benefits, and spearhead employee engagement and safety culture initiatives. From recruitment and development to offboarding, you’ll shape the full employee lifecycle, ensuring consistency, inclusion, and excellence across all regions. You will have a team of 5 reporting to you of which are split over 4 regions, 3 of which are outside of SA.

Where you’ll be doing it

The company is part of a large international aviation-related group with a dynamic, diverse culture that embraces individuality. Their structure operates similarly to a Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) environment — professional, people-focused, and collaborative. You’ll benefit from being part of a globally respected organisation while still enjoying the close-knit connection of a smaller team. Learning, wellness, and career growth are key priorities, and the environment is supportive, inclusive, and fun. This role will initially be office-based during your probation period, after which hybrid working options are available. Their staff compliment split over regions is nearly 500 staff. Their office is based in Cape Town CBD and you will need to travel occasionally which will include international travel.

What you’ll need

You’ll have a relevant bachelor’s degree (NQF Level 7) and at least five years’ management experience in a senior HR role, ideally across multiple geographies. You bring expertise in performance management, talent development, employee relations, and HR strategy. You’re business minded, analytical and data-driven, you’re skilled in change management, coaching, and conflict resolution, with a passion for driving engagement and inclusion. You have a high EQ, have a great sense of humour, can engage in healthy debate with strong personalities and different cultures. We’re looking for someone that’s hands on, happy to get stuck in. The role has flexible working hours but the business has a large contingent of young employees, it runs 24/7/365 and we need someone that understands the dynamic. Ideally you’re from a BPO type of environment or similar where the focus is big on talent. It’s quite a flat structure and despite being part of an international company, the environment is quite agile and entrepreneurial so if you’re a fit for a big corporate with silo roles and divisions then this wouldn’t be a fit for you.

What you’ll get

A market-related salary with benefits such as medical aid, provident fund, life and incapacity cover, plus the opportunity to work with an inspiring global team that’s passionate about what they do. You’ll receive a guaranteed 13th cheque and the potential for additional bonuses. The company offers talent development programmes, international career opportunities, and a bursary scheme for further studies — all designed to help you grow. You’ll also enjoy 21 days of annual leave.
