You are an experienced Instrument Mechanician within the chemicals or heavy industry sector looking to join a global company. You support the smooth functioning of equipment, reducing downtime, and contributing to the overall success of the manufacturing process. You have proven experience installing, maintaining, and repairing machinery and equipment.

What you’ll be doing (and why you’ll enjoy it)

As an Instrument Mechanician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our client’s facilities. You’ll be responsible for completing all electrical and instrumentation breakdown, safety, planned, and preventative maintenance work orders. Additionally, you’ll perform standby and overtime duties, execute MV switching as required, and provide mentorship training assistance for apprentices. Your meticulous approach to maintenance management will contribute to the overall success of our operations, making every day on the job rewarding and fulfilling.

Where you’ll be doing it

You will be based at their manufacturing facility in Richards Bay, where your primary responsibilities will be carried out. It’s important to note that this position may require you to work overtime to meet production demands and handle any critical tasks that arise. You may be assigned additional duties as needed to support the smooth operations and ongoing success of the facility.

What you’ll need

To excel in this role, you’ll need a certified Electrician/Instrumentation Mechanician trade test certificate. You should have at least 5 years of experience in a heavy industry environment, with a strong understanding of chemical plant safety protocols. Additionally, computer literacy and relevant certifications such as HV/MV switching certification and SCADA competency will be advantageous.
