Junior Company Attorney

Location: Stellenbosch, Cape Town

Salary: Market related

Join a team where you’ll join the exciting renewable energy world and learn, contribute and grow from day one.

Is this you?

You’re an admitted attorney, or close to admission, with a solid legal foundation and a genuine eagerness to build your career in-house. Naturally curious and commercially minded, you enjoy solving problems, take pride in producing accurate work and aren’t afraid to ask questions. You’ll thrive in a collaborative environment where learning from experienced professionals is encouraged and taking ownership is valued.

What you’ll be doing (and why you’ll enjoy it)

Your days will be varied, from drafting and reviewing commercial agreements, supporting renewable energy transactions and conducting legal research, to assisting with company secretarial duties, compliance initiatives and corporate governance matters. You’ll also work alongside internal stakeholders and external partners to help keep projects moving. This is the kind of role where you’ll enjoy broad exposure rather than being pigeonholed, allowing you to develop practical commercial legal skills in one of South Africa’s fastest-growing industries.

Where you’ll be doing it

You’ll join a growing, multi-entity renewable energy organisation operating across SA within a technically driven and project-focused industry. The team is young, energetic and highly dedicated, with a strong work ethic balanced by a social and collaborative culture. Their offices are based in Stellenbosch. There is currently 2 days work from home.

What you’ll need

An LLB degree together with admission as an attorney, or eligibility for admission, will be highly advantageous. Around one year of post-articles experience, or strong articles with relevant commercial exposure, will set you up for success. Experience drafting and reviewing contracts, knowledge of the Companies Act and excellent written communication skills are important. Afrikaans proficiency is required, along with a proactive attitude and a genuine willingness to learn.

What you’ll get

Alongside a competitive salary, you’ll receive 20 days leave, group life and disability cover and a performance-based bonus. There’s also a strong focus on team culture, with regular social events and a supportive, high-performance environment.
