What you’ll be doing (and why you’ll enjoy it)

In this role, you’ll conduct statutory inspections on forklifts and/or MEWPs, ensuring all equipment meets legal and safety standards. You’ll identify faults across mechanical, hydraulic and structural systems, compile detailed reports, and issue compliance certifications. Working closely with technical and workshop teams, you’ll align inspections with maintenance and repairs. You will enjoy this because your expertise directly impacts safety, operational efficiency and legal compliance, making every inspection meaningful and valued.

What you’ll need

A registered LMI qualification with relevant inspection scope is essential, along with 2–5 years of hands-on experience inspecting forklifts and/or MEWPs. A solid understanding of OHS Act, DMR and SANS standards is required, plus a valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel. Strong reporting skills and technical fault-finding ability will set you apart.
