You are a seasoned operations professional with a knack for leadership, communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills. You are up to date with industry regulations and current trends in the electrical contracting sector. You have experience in operational and project planning, pricing tenders, ensuring SHEQ and ISO compliance, proficiency with MS Project, familiarity with electrical materials, construction, and best practices, as well as knowledge of SANS 10142 standards.

What you’ll be doing (and why you’ll enjoy it)

As the Operations Manager, you’ll spearhead technical operations, ensuring projects are executed on time and within budget. You will be responsible for efficient project planning and execution. You will be leading and managing a team, coordinate project execution, evaluate new technologies, and conduct quality control checks. With your strong leadership and technical expertise, you’ll guide project teams, provide technical support, and resolve complex issues, all while maintaining high-quality standards and compliance with health and safety regulations. You will build and maintain relationships with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders as well as monitoring project budgets and financial performance.

What you’ll need

To excel in this role, you’ll need a BTech/BEng/ND in Electrical Engineering coupled with at least 10 years of proven experience in operations and project management within the electrical or construction industry. Your expertise in operational and project planning, pricing tenders, SHEQ compliance, and contract management will be essential. Additionally, your strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, coupled with your proficiency in MS Project and other relevant software, will set you apart.
