You’re a hands-on manufacturing leader who balances people, production and quality without losing sight of deadlines or cost. Structured and solutions-focused, you enjoy improving processes, developing teams and taking accountability for operational performance.

What you’ll be doing (and why you’ll enjoy it)

Take ownership of engineered pump manufacturing, leading production, quality, safety and environmental compliance while keeping delivery and turnover targets on track. You’ll plan schedules, manage attendance and overtime, reduce scrap through corrective action and use continuous improvement (CIP) and Lean principles to optimise resources and productivity. Staff development, performance reviews, labour relations, work instructions and toolbox talks also fall within your remit. You’ll enjoy seeing measurable improvements in quality, efficiency, cost and team capability.

What you’ll need

A Matric plus a Diploma or Degree in Operations Management or Mechanical Engineering is essential, backed by 5 to 8 years’ manufacturing experience and at least one year in pumps. SAP or similar ERP proficiency and basic Lean manufacturing and process optimisation knowledge are required. A Fitter and Turner Trade is advantageous.
