This is an owner-side Project Director role where you’ll lead utility-scale renewable energy projects from Financial Close through construction, commissioning, COD and handover into operations. Expect to oversee EPC delivery, governance, contracts, claims, lender reporting, grid interfaces, HSE, quality, budgets, risks and stakeholder alignment. You’ll enjoy this because it’s a high-impact role with genuine accountability, where your ability to anticipate risk, unlock decisions and keep complex projects moving will directly shape successful delivery.Where you’ll be doing it
You’ll join a lean, experienced renewable energy investment and asset management platform focused on developing, financing and managing utility-scale projects in South Africa. It’s a commercially driven environment where technical excellence, strong governance and long-term asset value matter, and where your construction expertise will also help strengthen future projects before Financial Close.What you’ll need
A relevant degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or similar is essential, with 15+ years’ experience in infrastructure, power or renewable energy projects and at least 10 years in senior project leadership. Strong experience with utility-scale Solar PV and/or BESS, EPC oversight, HV/MV infrastructure, Eskom or NTCSA grid interfaces, project finance, commissioning and COD is key. Pr.Eng, PMP, SACPCMP, NEC or FIDIC exposure would be advantageous.What you’ll get
