Project Manager (Level III / IV)

Location: Durbanville, Cape Town

Salary: Market related
Duration: Permanent

Lead complex engineering projects from concept to completion in a high-impact technical environment.

Is this you?

You’re a confident, detail-driven Project Manager who thrives under pressure and enjoys being the central driver of delivery. You’re a natural leader with strong cross-functional influence, able to balance technical depth with commercial awareness. Organised, disciplined and self-motivated, you take ownership, communicate clearly with stakeholders, and remain focused on outcomes even when schedules are demanding.

What you’ll be doing (and why you’ll enjoy it)

You’ll take full accountability for managing large-scale engineering projects across their entire lifecycle. This includes setting up projects from enquiry through award, leading multidisciplinary teams, defining scope, schedules, budgets and quality plans, and managing risks, HS&E, procurement, fabrication, installation and commissioning. You’ll engage closely with clients and suppliers, control costs and change requests, and ensure every deliverable meets agreed specifications, timelines and quality standards—seeing projects through to successful handover.

Where you’ll be doing it

You’ll join a well-established engineering and project execution business operating across heavy industry sectors such as mining, marine and offshore. Known for technical excellence, innovation and safety, this organisation delivers complex, turnkey projects and fosters a professional, fast-paced culture where expertise is valued and development is encouraged.

What you’ll need

You will need a BTech, BSc or BEng in Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronic Engineering, along with a recognised Project Management qualification. You’ll be registered or eligible for registration with ECSA and bring 10–12 years’ project management experience within heavy engineering, mining, oil & gas or mineral processing. Strong leadership, communication, planning and MS Project skills are essential, as is flexibility to travel and work extended hours when required.

What you’ll get

A permanent role on challenging, high-profile projects, flexible working arrangements, and a competitive market-related salary within a technically progressive environment that supports long-term career growth.
