Senior Client Accountant

Location: Cape Town CBD (hybrid)

Salary: Market related

Accounting is only half the job. This is your opportunity to lead people while mastering the complexities behind significant private wealth.

Is this you?

Accurate, accountable and naturally proactive, you’re someone who thinks ahead and takes pride in delivering work to a high standard. You’re comfortable balancing competing priorities, communicating with multiple stakeholders and supporting others to perform at their best. Complex client structures don’t intimidate you, they keep the work interesting.

What you’ll be doing (and why you’ll enjoy it)

Take ownership of accounting records and financial statements for onshore trusts and companies, maintaining ledgers through to trial balance and supporting client, statutory and tax reporting. You’ll manage tax compliance across individuals, trusts and companies while collaborating with relationship managers, administrators, banks, SARS, custodians and accounting and tax specialists. Alongside the technical work, you’ll support associates through workload allocation, coaching and performance guidance. You’ll enjoy the combination of complex accounting, sophisticated clients and growing people leadership responsibility.

Where you’ll be doing it

Join a global, partnership-led wealth management and multi-family office environment supporting high and ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families. Collaboration, discretion and client service sit at its core, with local expertise connecting into international teams and a broad range of wealth, investment and family office capabilities. You’ll be based in beautiful offices in Cape Town CBD, 3 days per week.

What you’ll need

Completed SAICA or SAIPA Articles and at least 3 years’ post-articles experience are essential, ideally gained within financial services and involving local trusts and companies. You’ll need strong IFRS for SMEs knowledge, financial statement expertise and practical Caseware, Xero and Microsoft Office experience. Tax Practitioner registration, or eligibility to complete the SARS readiness programme, is required. Previous team leadership exposure is advantageous. Only candidates currently residing in Cape Town can be considered.

What you’ll get

Excellent exposure to complex client groups, international collaboration and an opportunity to develop both your technical accounting and people leadership career. Employee benefits include medical aid, pension fund and 25 days leave per year.
