Hands-on mechanical role with real impact in the mining sector.

Is this you?

You’re practical, focused, and thrive on solving mechanical puzzles. You have a sharp eye for detail, take pride in your work, and stay calm under pressure. Your approach is methodical and safety-conscious, and you’re the kind of person who ensures everything runs smoothly – whether it’s replacing a hydraulic seal or guiding a team on best practices. You’re also someone who values structure, reliability, and professional growth.

What you’ll be doing (and why you’ll enjoy it)

You’ll be maintaining, repairing, and testing mechanical equipment and machinery in a fast-paced workshop environment. From diagnosing faults to replacing bearings and assembling machines to OEM standards, your work will ensure everything operates at peak performance. You’ll take the lead on condition monitoring, hydraulic repairs, and innovative part modifications when required. You’ll also support junior team members, ensuring they follow procedures and stay safe. Expect hands-on problem solving, tight turnarounds, and a steady rhythm of planned and preventative maintenance.

Where you’ll be doing it

You’ll be joining a global leader in the drilling industry, known for delivering cutting-edge solutions to the mining and exploration sectors. This organisation is committed to innovation, safety, and sustainability, and offers a collaborative environment where technical excellence is valued. With an established footprint and a reputation for reliability, this is a great place to deepen your mechanical expertise and be part of something bigger.

What you’ll need

You’ll hold a recognised Trade Test (Red Seal or equivalent) and an N6 National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, with at least a Grade 12 or N3. You must have an Advanced Hydraulics Certificate, strong fault-finding skills, and experience using CMMS or other maintenance management software. A Code C licence is essential, and an HR or MR licence will be advantageous. You should also be medically fit for site and workshop duties, and familiar with MDG safety standards.

What you’ll get

A stable, long-term role in a respected company with room to grow. You’ll work with high-end machinery, be part of a skilled and safety-driven team, and receive ongoing support for training and development. Additional benefits and standby/callout allowances are included.
