Technical Project Manager

Location: Cape Town

Salary: Market related

Deadlines don't move. Great project managers don't either. Step into a role where your ability to deliver makes all the difference.

Is this you?

You thrive on bringing order to complexity and take genuine pride in seeing technical projects through from concept to completion. Having built your career managing engineering projects within the food processing, food packaging, beverage, dairy or similar hygienic manufacturing industries, you’re comfortable coordinating multiple moving parts without losing sight of the bigger picture. Naturally organised, highly accountable and technically minded, you communicate confidently with clients, suppliers and engineers alike, staying calm under pressure while keeping projects, budgets and timelines firmly on track.

What you’ll be doing (and why you’ll enjoy it)

Taking ownership from the moment a project is handed over by the commercial team, you’ll coordinate every stage through design, procurement, manufacturing, Factory Acceptance Testing and final client sign-off. Working closely with engineering teams, suppliers and customers, you’ll ensure components arrive on time, budgets remain under control and project risks are identified before they become problems. You’ll enjoy this role because no two projects are the same, giving you the opportunity to work on innovative food processing and packaging solutions while making a visible impact on a growing business.

Where you’ll be doing it

Join a well-established engineering business with decades of industry expertise that has recently launched an exciting new venture focused on supplying advanced food processing and packaging equipment. Combining the agility of a growing business with the stability, technical knowledge and reputation of an established market leader, the environment offers the chance to influence processes, work alongside passionate directors and become a key part of the company’s future growth.

What you’ll need

A technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline, together with at least five years’ experience managing complex engineering or automation projects, is essential. Exposure to food, beverage, pharmaceutical, cosmetics or similar hygienic manufacturing environments will be highly advantageous. Experience managing Factory Acceptance Testing, project budgets and project management software is expected, along with the technical ability to interpret engineering drawings and confidently engage with multidisciplinary teams.

What you’ll get

An opportunity to join a growing business where your contribution will genuinely shape the future of the operation. Along with a competitive salary, you’ll enjoy working in a collaborative office-based environment with supportive leadership, interesting technical projects and travel to customer sites when required, with travel expenses covered by the company.
