With a strong understanding of electrical systems, you can read and interpret wiring diagrams with ease and confidently use hand and power tools. You have the physical stamina for a hands-on role and are medically fit to pass required site clearances.

What you’ll be doing (and why you’ll enjoy it)

You’ll be assembling and wiring distribution boards and motor control centres to exacting standards. With your in-depth experience, particularly in MCC wiring, you’ll ensure quality and accuracy across every project. You’ll work with schematics and layout diagrams to complete complex builds and installations, using your problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues as they arise. Your contribution will be crucial to keeping projects on track in a fast-paced, high-output manufacturing environment.

Where you’ll be doing it

This role is based at their manufacturing facility in Ottery, working hours are from Monday to Thursday 07h45 till 16h45 and Fridays 07h45 till 14h15. Overtime required when necessary. The company is a leading manufacturer of electrical switchboards, specializing in motor control centres. They have a skilled team and modern workshop in Ottery, producing high-quality products that have earned recognition from consultants and clients. Their product range includes distribution boards, motor control centres, power electronics, and PLC controls, all meeting SANS standards and certified with the SABS mark. The company serves various industries such as air conditioning, mining, pharmaceuticals, and water treatment, with significant experience in containerized MCCs and large-scale projects.

What you’ll need

While a formal electrical qualification is preferred, your hands-on wiring expertise and ability to interpret technical drawings matter most. You’ll need physical stamina, tool proficiency, and attention to detail. Teamwork, safety awareness, and a proactive approach are essential to success in this role.
