You’re a proactive trouble-shooter eager to contribute to the renewable energy industry. A prominent South African renewable energy firm is currently seeking an O&M Technician (Solar PV). Your responsibilities will play a vital role in maintaining the peak performance of our solar PV assets.
Your duties encompass the swift rectification of on-site faults, identification and rectification of string faults, addressing DC cable-related problems, and troubleshooting communication boards and equipment. Additionally, you’ll be responsible for monitoring and interpreting data, dealing with various inverter models, and ensuring the upkeep of our O&M vehicle. Your role also involves optimizing the solar plant’s performance and collaborating with grid-monitoring relays.

Founded in 2009, they developed and operates over 20 MW of solar PV assets in South Africa. Their team has 100 MW of active development assets nationally and has closed approximately 300 MW of power assets globally.
Preferably, you are a certified electrician with a background in solar PV or are actively working toward an electrician qualification. A strong grasp of electrical systems and communication equipment is essential. Proficiency in using multi-meters and solar string testers is of great importance. While not mandatory, a minimum of 3 years of experience in the solar energy sector is highly desired.
Holding a Code B driver’s license and possessing a valid Working at Heights certificate, along with computer literacy that includes competence in inverter software, would be advantageous. Your success in this position will be assured through your proactive nature, self-driven approach, and capability to work independently.
