As a Project Engineer, your role will encompass a wide range of responsibilities. You’ll design solar systems, analyse electrical drawings, and manage project dependencies, ensuring that solar projects are successfully delivered. Your work will directly impact the renewable energy landscape in South Africa.

Your new office is based in Rosebank, Johannesburg, but flexibility is key. They’re allergic to bureaucracy and believe in autonomy. A leading provider of sustainable energy solutions in South Africa, designing, installing, owning, and maintaining energy assets for customers in the retail, tourism, residential, and commercial and industrial (C&I) sectors.

Founded in 2009, they developed and operates over 20 MW of solar PV assets in South Africa. Their team has 100 MW of active development assets nationally and has closed approximately 300 MW of power assets globally.

What you’ll need

To excel in this role, you should possess proficiency in electrical engineering and solar system design. The ability to interpret and analyse electrical drawings is essential. You should also have in-depth knowledge of safety procedures and legal regulations. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are a must. Physical fitness and the ability to work at heights are required. Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and effective multitasking and prioritisation abilities are essential. A valid driver’s license and a willingness to travel are necessary. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is expected.
