What you’ll be doing (and why you’ll enjoy it)
In this crucial role, you will engage in a variety of accounting responsibilities including processing monthly entries, partaking in month-end close activities, reconciling accounts, and computing VAT. You will also be instrumental in preparing monthly management accounts, financial statements, VAT calculations and returns, filing VAT returns, reviewing financial and tax documents, and preparing tax returns. This role allows you to demonstrate your expertise in financial and tax practices while building strong relationships with clients through effective communication.
Where you’ll be doing it
A small but well established and respected accounting firm based in Green Point that is known for their commitment to excellence and unwavering dedication to clients. This is an in-office role and hours have some flexibility like for example you can start at 7am and leave at 3pm. There are 12 employees and they’re a close-knit team that are family orientated. The company can be described as informal and many of the staff have been there a number of years.
What you’ll need
We’re looking for someone with an Accounting or Finance tertiary qualification and more than 3 years of accounting experience, with a profound understanding of financial, tax, VAT, and accounting principles. You should possess excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in software such as Pastel, Xero, CaseWare, and Microsoft Excel. You’ll need to be able to work well within deadlines, be super organised and client focused.
