You are an experienced Blasting & Painting Manager responsible for monitoring and controlling of all blasting and painting activities within the structural steel fabrication sector. You possess knowledge of sand blasting, stainless steel bend blasting and shot blasting.

What you’ll be doing (and why you’ll enjoy it)

You will be responsible for a range of tasks, including discriminating between colors, brightness and shade through manual dexterity, strength, endurance, flexibility and the ability to see details at close range. Effective communication with clients is a crucial aspect of the role. The implementation of various painting techniques, such as operating a spray gun, mixing paint formulas, adjusting paint flow and viscosity and controlling air pressure to the spray gun by adjusting the nozzle, falls under your responsibilities.

Additionally, your role requires knowledge of different preparations and finish coatings, involving the correct selection of paints and application processes. Ensuring productivity improvement and production planning in alignment with customer requirements is a key aspect of the position. You should also possess the ability to understand and interpret various customer specifications. Lastly, overseeing paint consumption according to standard BOM (Bill of Materials) and maintaining control over cost and budgetary aspects of the process are integral to the responsibilities associated with this role.

What you’ll need

You will have a NACE CIP Level 1 Certification and a minimum of 5 years of experience, including relevant work in heavy structural steel fabrication. Knowledge of painting standards, particularly in quality paint procedures (DFT) and finishes, is required. Additionally, you should be capable of calculating paint costs and measurements, as well as assisting or conducting monthly invoicing. Proficiency in measuring square meters is a must and possessing knowledge of sand blasting, stainless steel bend blasting and shot blasting is crucial. It is essential for you to be familiar with reputable equipment suppliers and repairs.
