Business Development Manager

Location: Woodmead, Gauteng

Salary: Market related

Great products don't grow businesses. Great business developers do. Here's your chance to own a market and make your mark.

Is this you?

You’re a commercially driven relationship-builder who thrives on opening doors, creating opportunities and turning prospects into long-term clients. Naturally resilient and self-motivated, you enjoy being out in the field, engaging with customers and identifying growth opportunities others miss. You combine strong business acumen with a structured approach and take pride in delivering results through persistence, professionalism and credibility.

What you’ll be doing (and why you’ll enjoy it)

This role is all about growing market share within the industrial sector. You’ll strengthen existing customer relationships while actively developing new business opportunities across Gauteng and beyond. Working closely with customers and suppliers, you’ll provide technical support during trials, gather valuable market intelligence and drive sales projects from initial engagement through to completion. You’ll enjoy this role because it offers the autonomy to build your own pipeline, influence business growth and develop strategic partnerships in a technically focused environment.

Where you’ll be doing it

Join a well-established supplier operating within the industrial and manufacturing sector, recognised for delivering specialised technical solutions to a broad customer base. The environment is entrepreneurial, customer-focused and performance-driven, offering the opportunity to work with industry professionals who value expertise, collaboration and long-term business relationships.

What you’ll need

A minimum of 5 years’ sales experience within the industrial, chemical or engineering sectors is essential, along with a proven track record in business development and customer acquisition. At least 3 years’ experience managing customer portfolios, sales pipelines, key accounts or business development activities is required. A qualification or formal training in engineering, technology or a chemical-related field will be highly advantageous. Strong communication skills in both English and Afrikaans, excellent planning abilities, sound commercial awareness and your own reliable transport are required.

What you’ll get

A competitive CTC package along with the opportunity to work in a role that offers significant autonomy, customer engagement and long-term career growth within a specialised industrial market. You’ll join a business that values initiative, rewards results and provides the platform to build lasting relationships within the industry.
