What you’ll be doing (and why you’ll enjoy it)

As a Chemical Technologist in Capricorn Park, you will be at the forefront of ensuring the quality, compliance, and improvement of natural products. Your role offers a mix of responsibilities that make every day engaging:

  • Leading a High-Performing Team: You will lead a small team of lab technicians, fostering their engagement, enhancing their performance, and promoting effective teamwork.
  • Quality Assurance: You’ll conduct chemical analysis, implement and maintain analytical testing methods, and collaborate closely with labs and the R&D team to optimise product formulations. Your contributions will be vital in upholding our commitment to quality.
  • New Product Development: Get involved in the development of innovative products. From feasibility studies and process optimisation to formulation improvements and supporting pilot-scale trials, you’ll be on the cutting edge of our R&D efforts.
  • Product Registrations: Play a key role in new product registrations, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Technical Documentation: Generate and maintain essential technical documentation, providing a structured foundation for our operations.
  • Customer Complaint Resolution: Investigate customer complaints, analyse root causes, and implement effective corrective actions. Your problem-solving skills will be put to good use.

What you’ll need

  • High school diploma (Grade 12)
  • Bachelor’s degree (BSc or Btech) in Chemistry or a related field
  • 5 years of industry-related experience in Quality Assurance and R&D

Additional Skills:

  • Strong leadership abilities
  • Excellent collaboration and teamwork skills across various departments and levels
  • Effective coordination and organization skills
  • Proficiency in analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Computer literacy, with a working knowledge of MS Word and Excel
  • Strong report writing skills
  • Quality management expertise
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and exposure to ISO standards
  • Competence in data interpretation
  • Understanding of OHSA compliance
