What you’ll be doing (and why you’ll enjoy it)

As the Construction Quality Manager your main responsibilities will include implementing and establishing a comprehensive Project Quality Management Plan aligned with the clients quality policy.

Developing, implementing, and maintaining a robust quality system, procedures, and documentation for the Project. Must be able to run a lead audits, conduct quality inspections during manufacturing and construction processes and ensure adherence to specifications and standards. Reviewing and verifying quality assurance and control plans of the EPC Contractor and its subcontractors, just to name a few.

You will be reporting directly to the site Project Manager.

Where you’ll be doing it

Our client, a leading international IPP, is spearheading a battery energy storage project on various sites in SA (North West/Mpumalanga/Northern Cape) featuring a state-of-the-art BESS with a capacity of 115MWp and three 30MW battery storage systems controlled by a virtual power plant controller. They are pulling together a team of invaluable people to head this engineering project. You will be joining the site for a 24-month fixed-term contract.

What you’ll need

Ideally, to be considered a perfect candidate for this role you should hold a tertiary technical qualification in Quality Management or another quality-related field as well as have a minimum 5 years of work experience in renewable/energy EPC projects as a civil/electrical engineer.

A previous experience as a Quality Manager in a utility-scale BESS/wind/pv project is a definite advantage along with an excellent working knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management system. Important to the role is a Lead Audit Certification and a good understanding of supply chain and manufacturing processes in an EPC and solid knowledge of the OHS Act and its Regulations and have the ability to act objectively and independently and have a strong report writing ability.
