Customer Service Specialist

Location: Cape Town

Salary: Market related

Customer service here is not a script. It is where scientific orders, exact numbers and dependable delivery come together.

Is this you?

Precision comes naturally to you, especially when a few cents, a delivery date or a missing detail can affect the whole order. You connect the dots quickly, stay composed across several workflows and take genuine ownership of customer questions. Teamwork matters to you, but so does being accountable for the final answer.

What you’ll be doing (and why you’ll enjoy it)

From incoming requests to final delivery, you will prepare quotations and sales orders, validate purchase order details, pricing and customer requirements, and keep customers informed on availability and lead times. You will manage queries through to resolution, update CRM and ERP records, monitor fulfilment and dispatch, and work closely with Sales, Operations, Logistics, Finance and technical teams. Light reception cover forms part of the shared team routine.

Where you’ll be doing it

Within a small life sciences distribution business, customer service sits at the centre of a changing, growing operation. The culture is warm, collaborative and human, with people promoted from within and new leadership investing in stronger systems, broader capability and long-term resilience.

What you’ll need

Matric with Pure Mathematics and Life Science is essential, alongside at least three years’ customer service experience. Familiarity with CRM or ERP platforms and ISO 9001 processes is required, while exposure to ISO 13485 is advantageous. Experience in medical diagnostics, laboratory supply or scientific distribution is preferred. Strong communication, numerical accuracy and high-volume administration capability will be important.

What you’ll get

The opportunity offers a provident fund and one work-from-home day each week after probation. More importantly, you will gain broad exposure across customer operations, data, systems and cross-functional workflows in a business where strong performance can open scope to learn and expand your contribution.
