You’re a highly experienced and motivated Electrical Construction Supervisor who thrives on playing a critical role in ensuring the successful execution of a wind farm project.

Your primary responsibilities include overseeing HSE compliance, managing electrical construction activities, providing QA/QC support, and facilitating effective communication with stakeholders.

What you’ll be doing (and why you’ll enjoy it)

In this role, you will have a wide range of responsibilities that will keep you on your toes. Starting with providing active support to the HSE Manager, ensuring the enforcement of the HSE Plan on site. Reviewing and verifying DSTIs, acting as OHS, and guiding contractors to comply with the project’s EMPrs.

Monitor and control contractors’ adherence to the Project Schedule and milestone dates and collecting daily diaries to monitor progress will be required of you.

Bring QA/QC support and involve ensuring the correct design implementation, supporting the EPC Engineer.

Interact with stakeholders and effectively communicate company values and objectives on-site, fulfil reporting obligations, and manage interactions with various parties involved in the project.

All of this will be reported directly to the Site Construction Manager daily or weekly.

 

Where you’ll be doing it

In the Eastern Cape is a wind farm site with a capacity of 67MW / 63MW storage, which will be controlled by a virtual power plant controller, enabling the project to be fully dispatchable according to the requirements of the program.

As a leader in Renewable Energy and IPP, our client is assembling a team of invaluable people to bring this project together, covering all EPC.

You will be joining an established and passionate team of people on the site for the 18-20 month fixed-term contract.

What you’ll need

 

You should possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical site or construction operations, with at least 2 years of experience in the renewable energy sector. A BTech or BSc (Diploma minimum) in Electrical Engineering is required, with substantial exposure to these fields over the years.

Demonstrate a thorough understanding of regulations, experience in managing multiple projects, proactive and intercultural competence and enjoy site.

You will receive a competitive monthly salary, along with standard site benefits such as accommodation, a site vehicle, and allowances for fuel, food, and cellphone usage. Once a month R&R weekend from Thursday to Tuesday with travel to and from the site will be in own vehicle and at own expense.
