Financial Accountant

Location: Forest Town, Johannesburg

Salary: Market related

If project costs stay hidden, then your insight turns the ledger into operational leverage.

Is this you?

Precision is your default, and you enjoy bringing order and insight to a broad accounting function. You are analytical, honest and comfortable working autonomously in a focused, professional setting. Tight deadlines sharpen your thinking without compromising accuracy.

What you’ll be doing (and why you’ll enjoy it)

Take ownership of the full accounting cycle, from general ledger entries, reconciliations and month-end close through to financial statements and management accounts. You will manage receivables, payables, cash flow, fixed assets, budgets and forecasts while strengthening project costing. The role also covers audit coordination, statutory reporting, electronic payments, financial analysis and process improvements across the organisation.

Where you’ll be doing it

Within an international business and trade organisation, your work will support cross-border commercial activity and service-based projects. The Johannesburg office offers a focused and business-oriented environment where straightforward communication, accountability and sound financial information are valued. After probation, there are two days work from home. Their offices are near Rosebank, Gauteng.

What you’ll need

A degree is essential, supported by approximately five to seven years of full-function accounting experience through to financial statements. You need a solid understanding of budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, project costing, debtors, creditors and basic payroll. Strong ERP accounting system capability, advanced spreadsheet skills, careful judgement and excellent stakeholder communication are important.

What you’ll get

Autonomy, varied international exposure while giving decision-makers clearer insight into project performance. The position includes a provident fund, subsidised medical aid, 25 working days of annual leave and a policy allowing two work-from-home days.
