What you’ll be doing (and why you’ll enjoy it)

You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the company’s financial future by advising on and implementing financial operations that align with business goals. You’ll lead the business planning process, ensuring clear communication and alignment with group requirements. Your role will involve assessing company performance, identifying variances, and providing solutions to boost profitability. You’ll also oversee accounting processes, ensuring compliance with internal and external audits, and driving improvements in risk management. Additionally, you’ll advise on financial aspects of new projects and product launches, helping to ensure optimal financial decisions. Your leadership will be essential in fostering a high-performance team that delivers results. You’ll lead a team of 4 direct reports and 10 indirect. The employees are very hands on, operational and they are brand ambassadors, often there are events on the weekend that the team are part of.

Where you’ll be doing it

You’ll be joining a leading international manufacturer by distributing in the SA market, known for its innovation and success across various sectors. Their offices are in Sandton and this is an in office Monday to Friday role. What you’ll need

To be considered for this role, you need to be a qualified CA (SA) with at least 5 years of post-articles working experience in a similar leadership position, within a distribution industry. You’ll need to demonstrate strong financial management skills, including strategic planning, performance measurement, and risk management. A track record of effective team leadership and a deep understanding of accounting principles and IRRS and GAAP are essential. We’re looking for someone that has forex experience. Your interpersonal skills should include a strong ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and motivate your team toward success. We’re looking for someone that’s operationally strong, happy to roll up the sleeves and get stuck in. Even the MD is involved in events and is hands on.
