Graduate / Junior Electrical Engineer

Location: Pretoria, Gauteng

Salary: Market related

Forget being thrown in at the deep end. Build your Solar PV career with mentorship that sets you up for long-term success.

Is this you?

You’re a recent Electrical Engineering graduate or have gained some early industry exposure and are eager to learn from experienced professionals. Rather than looking for just another engineering role, you’re excited by renewable energy, enjoy solving technical problems and want exposure to real commercial and utility-scale Solar PV projects. You’re analytical, detail-oriented, motivated to grow and keen to build a long-term career in a collaborative engineering environment.

What you’ll be doing (and why you’ll enjoy it)

Working alongside experienced engineers, you’ll assist with the design of commercial and utility-scale Solar PV systems, energy yield calculations, project costing, feasibility studies, technical drawings and project delivery through to commissioning. You’ll also gain exposure to client meetings, site visits and multidisciplinary project teams while using tools such as AutoCAD, Excel and, where applicable, PVSyst or PVSol. You’ll enjoy this opportunity because every project expands your technical knowledge while giving you hands-on experience that accelerates your engineering career.

Where you’ll be doing it

Join a respected renewable energy engineering consultancy that has built a strong reputation for delivering large-scale Solar PV projects across South Africa. The team is passionate about developing young engineers through structured mentorship, practical training and exposure to technically challenging projects within a supportive, growth-focused culture.

What you’ll need

A BEng, BSc or BTech in Electrical Engineering, with BEng or BSc preferred. Whether you’re a recent graduate or have gained some early industry exposure, you’re eager to develop your career in Solar PV and renewable energy. Strong Excel and AutoCAD skills are essential, while exposure to PVSyst or PVSol will be advantageous. A valid driver’s licence and a genuine passion for learning and solving technical challenges will set you apart.

What you’ll get

A market-related salary, performance bonuses, a laptop and mobile phone, ongoing technical mentorship and outstanding career development within one of South Africa’s fastest-growing engineering sectors.
