What you’ll be doing (and why you’ll enjoy it)

You’ll be responsible for the financial control of multiple operational units, ensuring compliance with financial policies and procedures. You’ll manage the creditors and debtors functions, verifying invoices, ensuring VAT compliance, and reconciling accounts to maintain accuracy. You’ll oversee invoicing, follow up on payments, and generate financial reports, including profit and loss statements. Working closely with different Contract managers at various client sites, you’ll assist with payroll reports, wage variations, and HR-related paperwork while ensuring stock controls are in place and profitability is optimised at unit level. You will report directly to the Group CFO who is based in Cape Town.

Where you’ll be doing it

Our client is a well-established provider of food and catering solutions, operating across multiple locations with a workforce of over 400 employees. They have a strong focus on service excellence, compliance, and efficiency. The company operates in a fast-paced, environment where your role will play a vital part in ensuring smooth financial operations. You’ll be based in Illovo, Gauteng at one of their clients sites. There is a handful of office staff where you’ll be based, the rest are contracted employees. Majority of the 400 plus employees are contract employees. This is a Monday to Friday in the office, either 8 to 5pm or 7am to 4pm.

What you’ll need

A B.Com degree as a minimum along with at least eight years of financial accounting experience up to and including management accounts. Experience in the food and beverage industry is advantageous. You should have strong analytical skills, the ability to work independently under pressure, and proficiency in financial systems (Pastel Partner 19 experience is a plus). Excellent communication skills and a keen eye for detail are essential. We need someone reliable, that is trustworthy and is efficient. Someone that’s able to work with various different stakeholders at different sites and ensure process runs smoothly.
