Location: Germiston, Gauteng

Salary: R25 000 – R35 000 per month

What you’ll be doing (and why you’ll enjoy it)

In this varied role for around 700 employees, you’ll be hands on for the full HR lifecycle, from recruitment to exit processes. This includes handling personnel movements, salary adjustments, and job gradings while ensuring compliance with relevant employment laws and MEIBC regulations. You’ll collaborate closely with leadership and unions to resolve industrial relations issues and provide insights to enhance policies and organisational effectiveness. IR will form a large part of your role. You’ll also process payroll inputs, oversee recruitment end to end and support skills development initiatives. Your ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment will ensure the smooth operation of HR functions across the board.

 

Where you’ll be doing it

Our client is a leading player in the steel manufacturing sector, supplying critical industries like mining, construction, and energy. Based in Germiston, Johannesburg South, the organisation is renowned for its focus on operational excellence and long-standing reputation for quality. With a collaborative, fast paced environment and a commitment to high standards, this role provides the opportunity to make a tangible impact in a challenging and rewarding setting. This role is Monday to Friday, in office with hours being 7am to 16:30 Monday to Thursday, Fridays 7am to 2pm. There will be occasions you’ll need to work overtime (a few hours a week). This is not for a clock watcher.

What you’ll need

To be considered, you’ll need a National Diploma in HR (a Bachelor’s Degree is a plus), strong computer literacy, and a deep understanding of South African labour laws like LRA and BCEA. Having bargaining council experience and IR experience in a manufacturing / engineering / technical type of company is a non negotiable. Additioanl to that will be a big preference for experience in a unionised environment. You will need to have done full end to end recruitment. With your planning, organisational, and communication skills, you’ll excel in this role. We’re looking for someone that is confident, reliable, flexible and handles pressure well.

A basic salary with contributions to pension and medical aid. A bonus is performance based.
