What you’ll be doing (and why you’ll enjoy it)

As the HSSEQC (Health, Safety, Security, Environmental, Quality, and Compliance) Manager, you will oversee the development and implementation of comprehensive HSSEQC programs, ensuring compliance with local and international regulations, including ISO standards (ISO 9001/ISO 45001). You’ll lead a multi-regional team, guiding them in executing safety protocols while working closely with third-party subcontractors. This role involves conducting risk assessments, particularly in offshore and high-risk environments, managing audits, and driving continuous improvement in safety performance. You’ll enjoy the challenge of maintaining high standards across diverse regions, making strategic recommendations to senior leadership (Vice President and the Global HSSEQC Director), and fostering a culture of safety leadership throughout the organisation.

Our client’s head office is based in Cape Town and is a leading global engineering service provider specialising in the oil & gas and marine industries. With operations across multiple regions in Africa, they are committed to innovation, safety, and quality. They have earned a reputation for excellence in inspection services, asset integrity management, and maintenance solutions.  prides itself on creating a diverse and inclusive work environment that values safety, accountability, and long-term sustainability. There will be monthly travel to African regions approx. 1 week per month.

What you’ll need

To excel in this role, you’ll need a Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field, coupled with at least 6 years of experience in HSE management within heavy industries like oil & gas, mining, or large-scale infrastructure construction. Experience in offshore operations and asset integrity management is highly desirable. You’ll also need a strong grasp of ISO standards, risk management, and a proven ability to interpret safety data to make strategic decisions. Your leadership skills will be crucial as you build a safety-first culture across multi-regional teams and subcontractors.
