Service Technician
Location: Johannesburg
Salary: R300 000 – R600 000 CTC per annum

You have experience in technical problem diagnosis both remotely and on-site at customers’ locations, encompassing a range of tasks such as on-site repairs, installations, and off-site remote troubleshooting. Additionally, you excel in providing preventative maintenance and repair for various equipment including food processing, retail, and industrial scales, weigh price labeling, and inspection systems as necessary. Your proficiency extends to attentive listening to customer concerns, ensuring efficient and comprehensive communication on all job-related matters. Furthermore, you are adept at setting up and troubleshooting both wired and wireless network connected devices.
What you’ll be doing (and why you’ll enjoy it)
You will use your technical expertise to diagnose and address technical issues, both remotely and on-site at customer locations, performing repairs, installations and remote troubleshooting. Additionally, you’ll conduct preventative maintenance and repairs on various equipment, with a focus on food processing machinery, scales, weigh-price labeling, and inspection systems. Effective communication is key as you actively listen to customer concerns and communicate job-related matters comprehensively. You’ll also be responsible for setting up and troubleshooting network-connected devices, maintaining meticulous service call documentation, managing spare parts inventory, proactively selling our service products and adapting to flexible hours and physical demands, including occasional heavy lifting and challenging working conditions.
Where you’ll be doing it
75% of your time will be spent traveling between the various customers that you will be responsible for. But when you are not on the road, you will be based in their offices in Johannesburg.
What you’ll need
To excel in this role, you possess a technical qualification, if you have obtained your NRCS verification officer/repairer certification this would be highly beneficial. Strong analytical skills for effective troubleshooting, hands-on experience with PC-based devices and expertise in weigh-price labeling, inspection systems and industrial scales are essential. You’ll need familiarity with TCP/IP-based connections, proficiency in PC hardware and mechanical systems knowledge. A customer-centric and self-motivated work approach, combined with adaptability to varying work hours and the ability to travel within the designated service area with a clean driving record.
What you’ll get
You will receive a market related basic salary including car allowance, cellphone allowance, petrol card, medical aid and pension contribution.
