What you’ll be doing (and why you’ll enjoy it)
In this role, you’ll conduct detailed research and analysis of potential investment opportunities across various asset classes. You’ll support Portfolio Managers by performing financial modeling and valuations, enabling informed buy/sell decisions. Monitoring global and local financial markets, you’ll track performance metrics to ensure portfolios meet targets while preparing insightful reports for stakeholders. Collaborating closely with research teams and engaging in strategic discussions will keep your work dynamic and rewarding.
Where you’ll be doing it
Our client is a small alternative investment manager/DFM focusing on hedge funds, based in Paarl. Known for their disciplined investment processes and robust risk management, they are committed to delivering superior returns for their clients. They foster a collaborative and high-performance culture, with a commitment to excellence and continuous improvement. You will be office based daily in Paarl so living in the area if highly advantageous.
What you’ll need
To excel in this role, you’ll need to have a completed degree in Finance or Investments, coupled with your completed CFA Level 2 (non-negotiable). You also need to have at least 1 years of experience working as an Investment Analyst at an asset manager. Strong analytical and quantitative skills, alongside proficiency in financial modelling and a deep understanding of financial markets, are essential. Excellent communication skills will help you articulate complex investment concepts effectively.
