What you’ll be doing (and why you’ll enjoy it)
In this role, you’ll get hands-on experience in both engineering project execution and client interaction. You’ll work on-site and in-house, supporting projects from planning to execution, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met. You’ll collaborate closely with the sales team, identifying opportunities to introduce the company’s solutions to clients, and engineering teams with drafting and analysing technical drawings. Expect to travel to mining and industrial sector client sites, providing technical insights, preparing cost estimates, and assisting in proposal development. This role offers the opportunity to learn the full sales process, from lead generation to closing deals, as well as attending industry events to network and stay updated on market trends.

The offices are based in Centurion and will require travel to various sites within the region. What you’ll need
To excel in this role, you’ll need a diploma or degree in Mechanical or Electrical (preferred) engineering, with experience in an engineering role, ideally in mining or heavy industries. You’ll also bring a solid understanding of engineering principles and project management, with proficiency in PLC software being a plus. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are crucial, as is the ability to work collaboratively within a team. The key facet in this role is a passion for transitioning into technical sales engineering, coupled with a strong desire to learn and grow within business development, therefore an interest in moving into a sales driven space is crucial. Willingness to travel (license holder) for client meetings and site visits is required and having your own vehicle is beneficial.
