Drive legal excellence in renewable energy project finance!

Is this you?

What you’ll be doing (and why you’ll enjoy it)

You’ll play a pivotal role in supporting project finance activities, providing legal guidance on debt and equity financing, corporate structuring, and energy market agreements. Your responsibilities will include drafting, reviewing, and negotiating key contracts, ensuring compliance with local regulatory requirements, and advising on joint ventures, acquisitions, and internal restructurings. You’ll also be identifying legal risks, managing disputes, and supporting litigation while collaborating with internal teams to drive strategic decision-making. This role offers a dynamic and entrepreneurial environment, where your legal expertise will contribute to transformative renewable energy projects.

Where you’ll be doing it

You’ll be joining a global leader in renewable energy development, dedicated to building and operating large scale renewable energy projects. This company is expanding rapidly, backed by major international partnerships and a proven track record in project finance. The organisation is known for its collaborative culture, commitment to sustainability, and focus on innovation. You’ll work with a team of passionate professionals in a fast-growing industry, making a tangible impact on the transition to clean energy. This is a hybrid position, 2 days in their Southern Suburbs, Cape Town office with flexible working hours. Relocation candidates within SA will be considered but you need to be a permanent resident. Some local travel will be required and minimal international travel.

What you’ll need

To be considered, you must be an Admitted Attorney with at least 5 years of post-articles experience in contract negotiation, drafting, corporate structuring, legal due diligence, litigation and regulatory compliance. You would have excellent problem-solving abilities, a strategic mindset, and the ability to collaborate across departments. Experience working in-house at a multinational company would be advantageous.

What you’ll get

In addition to a market-related salary, you’ll receive a competitive benefits package, including a performance-based bonus.
