What you’ll be doing (and why you’ll enjoy it)

In this role, you’ll be an integral part of the finance team, working closely with the Finance Manager to ensure smooth financial operations. You’ll assist with the monthly and annual closing of accounts, ensuring that journals, provisions, and accruals are accurately posted. You’ll also dive into project accounting, short-term cash forecasts, and tax submissions (Income Tax, VAT, Provisional Tax). Your role will be key in financial analysis, supporting profitability and growth, and contributing to the company’s annual budget planning process. Additionally, you’ll assist with the financial audit and handle B-BBEE reporting. This is a varied role, offering plenty of challenges and opportunities to develop.

Where you’ll be doing it

You’ll be joining a global leader in specialised vessel construction and advanced equipment for wet mining and dredging activities. The company is renowned for its innovation, working with leading dredging firms, offshore contractors, and national governments worldwide. Based in Tygervalley, you’ll join a dynamic team within a fast-growing company that values professional development and offers opportunities to grow your skills in a project-driven environment.

What you’ll need

To succeed in this role, you’ll need a relevant financial qualification, such as BComm or BAcc. Previous experience in management accounting is essential, along with a strong understanding of cost accounting and financial principles. Experience in a project-based organisation would be beneficial. You should be process-oriented, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, will be critical in this role.

What you’ll get

You’ll be offered a competitive market-related salary and the chance to work in a company that’s thriving in the mining sector.
