What you’ll need

To succeed in this role, you’ll need a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, with an MBA being highly advantageous. While not required, proficiency in German would be a valuable asset. A minimum of 10 years of senior management experience, with at least 5 years in the solar or renewable energy industry, is essential. To elevate this sales organisation to the next level, you’ll need a strong, self-driven sales mentality and a relentless commitment to achieving results. You should have a strong understanding of the South African energy market,  exceptional financial acumen, and a proven ability to lead and inspire a team. Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills are also key, as you’ll be engaging with clients, stakeholders, and regulators.
