Production Support Engineer (Chemical)

Location: Sasolburg, Free State

Salary: R700 000 – R800 000 CTC per annum

What you’ll be doing (and why you’ll enjoy it)

In this role, you’ll be responsible for coordinating key logistics and inventory management functions, ensuring the smooth movement of materials and products. You will assist with account receivable/payable queries, document control, and ensure data compliance between SAP and warehouse stock. Additionally, you will keep finished goods dispatch planning up to date, coordinate cycle counts with logistics and accounting, and support networking capital initiatives. You’ll also manage indirect procurement for packaging materials and process chemicals, while coordinating local raw material supplies and dispatches. Furthermore, you’ll take responsibility for all waste collection, including hazardous and non-hazardous waste, and ensure compliance with environmental regulations. You’ll assist with technical projects, feasibility studies, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Finally, you’ll support site facilities, timekeeping, and be a key player in maintaining safety and 5S standards across warehouses and dispatch areas.

What you’ll need

To succeed in this role, you will need a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering. You Experience with SAP modules would be beneficial, along with strong PC skills. You should be innovative and creative, with excellent planning and organizational skills, as well as a customer-focused, service-oriented approach. Experience with cross-functional departments in production, safety, QC, logistics, and general administration would be highly beneficial. Additionally, being certified in ISO 9001 and 14001 would be an advantage.
