What you’ll be doing (and why you’ll enjoy it)

As the Retail Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for expanding the footprint of the brand across the Western Cape. You’ll build and maintain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including IFAs, DFMs, Multi-Managers, and LISP platforms. Your role will involve marketing and distributing investment funds, providing exceptional service to clients, and taking the initiative to promote the brand within the retail investment market. You’ll also collaborate closely with the Institutional team to enhance the brand’s presence, while identifying partnership opportunities with other Fund Managers when appropriate. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a collaborative environment while driving growth and brand recognition in the region.

What you’ll need

To excel in this role, you should have a Commercial/Investment/Financial or Postgraduate qualification and ideally a CFA and/or CFP qualification, coupled with at least 3 years of experience in a business development or sales role within the retail investment market, with a well-established network of clients in Cape Town. You must have a solid understanding of the investment industry and its products, as well as a technical grasp of systematic investment management strategies. Strong relationship management, presentation, and communication skills are essential to succeed in this role.
