What you’ll be doing (and why you’ll enjoy it)
You’ll take the lead in designing high-end commercial and industrial solar systems, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and engineering best practices. Your role will involve conducting site inspections, preparing project budgets, creating construction-ready drawings, and handling all calculations required for utility approvals. You’ll simulate system performance, support commissioning activities, and address engineering issues during operations and maintenance. As a senior team member, you’ll guide and review the work of junior engineers, project engineers and interns, ensuring the highest standards are met across all designs. Your contributions will directly impact the quality and performance of renewable energy systems across South Africa.

What you’ll need
You hold a PR Eng registration with ECSA and a formal qualification in Electrical Engineering. You bring significant experience in designing renewable energy systems, with excellent knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and design software. You’re confident working across multiple projects and disciplines, possess strong leadership and decision-making skills, and enjoy mentoring junior team members. Your attention to detail and ability to manage time and resources effectively will set you apart.
