Taking ideas from concept to commissioned equipment, you’ll design new machinery and improve existing high-pressure valves, hydraulic power packs and mechanised mining equipment. The work spans manufacturing drawings, design reviews, prototypes, testing, trials, documentation and technical support for production, sales and suppliers. You will also resolve drawing, material, quality and costing queries, approve bills of materials and visit underground sites when required.Where you’ll be doing it
Within a well-established South African engineering business, the engineering team works closely with manufacturing, suppliers and operational sites. Designs are not left on screen. They are built, tested, refined and supported under real operating conditions, creating a practical setting for an engineer who values technical depth and visible outcomes.What you’ll need
A BEng in Mechanical Engineering and substantial hands-on machine, equipment or mechanical design experience are essential. Your track record must include manufacturing drawings and taking equipment through development, build, commissioning and fault resolution. SolidWorks or comparable 3D CAD capability and MS Office proficiency are required. Mining, hydraulics, valves, FEA, CFD and knowledge of relevant ASME, ANSI, BS or EN codes are advantageous. South African citizenship is required.What you’ll get
