If you’re struggling to fill a technical role, here’s a question worth asking:
Would someone leave a good job for this opportunity?
If the answer isn’t an obvious “yes”, the challenge may not be finding the right candidates.
It could be how the opportunity is being positioned.
The reality is that many of the strongest technical professionals aren’t actively looking for a new role.
They’re busy, successful and generally happy where they are.
If they’re going to consider making a move, they need a compelling reason to do so.
Salary plays a part, but it’s rarely the only factor.
Career growth, meaningful projects, strong leadership, flexibility, company culture and the chance to make a real impact can all be just as important.
Before assuming there’s a talent shortage, take a closer look at what you’re offering and, more importantly, how you’re communicating it.
The strongest candidates don’t need another job.
They need a compelling reason to consider one.
That’s an important difference.
